The state’s peak business organisation, BusinessNSW, honoured winners from all over the state at a black tie event in Sydney Friday night.
Business NSW CEO Daniel Hunter said these businesses have gone above and beyond with respect to innovation, diversity and inclusion, sustainability and leadership.
“It’s great to see so many businesses displaying such impressive forward-thinking to tackle the needs of NSW communities,” Mr Hunter said.
“It has certainly been a challenging few years for NSW with floods, bushfires, a mouse plague and of course the COVID pandemic.
“After not being able to meet in person for the 2021 Business Awards, it’s fantastic that so manyof us are able celebrate our resilience and show that NSW means business.”
Business of the Yearwent to Zepto Payments, founded in Byron Bay in 2017.
The payments technology company enables businesses to make, manage and receive payments in real time by connecting them directly to their customers' bank accounts.
Theyare soon to have $50 billion worth of transactions flowing through their platform.
Outstanding Young Business Leader went to Raghav Murali-Ganesh, Co-Founder and CEO ofCancerAid.
Raghav had the vision and led the development of the Coach Program - a health coaching behaviour change program for people impacted by cancer.
The programhas been proven to improve return-to-work rates for cancer patients by 73 per cent, as well as improve the speed at which people return to work by 16.5 weeks.
“Small to medium business is the heart and soul of our nation, the heartbeat of our economy and the glue that binds our society,” Mr Hunter said.
“More than ever COVID taught us that agility, passion and determination, resilience and innovation kept NSW going.”
