SUPPORTING SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKPLACES

Safe and healthy workplaces begin with a fair and balanced statutory framework that suits all types of business. 

We regularly engage with government and regulatory agencies, including SafeWork NSW, SIRA (the State Insurance Regulatory Authority) and icare (Insurance and Care NSW), to advocate for business- and people-friendly policies.

But our work doesn’t end there. We also support various health and wellness initiatives, such as Beyond Blue’s Heads Up mental health campaign, to help our member businesses create world-class workplaces. 

OUR CURRENT ADVOCACY AGENDA

We support continuous improvement in WHS and workers’ compensation. Our current advocacy agenda includes:

• advocating for a fair and sustainable workers’ compensation scheme in NSW that balances the needs of injured workers with the interests of businesses, the primary funders of the scheme
• reviewing WHS and workers’ compensation performance in NSW and other Australian jurisdictions to achieve consistent, practical and efficient improvement
• working with the WHS and Workers Compensation Policy Committee and using direct member feedback to develop and promote WHS and workers’ compensation policies for NSW businesses that incorporate practical advice and guidance to drive best practice
