Today, managing director Bill Cloros works alongside his sons and grandchildren, continuing a tradition that remains firmly rooted in Australian manufacturing. From pioneering the now iconic zip-sided work boot to investing in advanced production technology, Mongrel Boots has continued to innovate while staying true to its family-owned roots. Today, its boots are sold across Australia and exported to markets around the world.

In 1973, Mongrel Boots became a member of Business NSW, seeking practical support to help manage the growing complexities of running a business.
"We joined because we needed somebody that could give us advice on how to comply with all the laws and regulations a business has to cope with in New South Wales," says Bill.
As the business has grown, that relationship has continued, helping Mongrel Boots navigate workplace relations, awards, health and safety requirements and other regulatory obligations.
While many competitors shifted manufacturing offshore, the company has continued to produce its boots in Western Sydney, proudly supporting local jobs and earning accreditation through the Australian Made campaign.
As Business NSW celebrates 200 years of supporting businesses across New South Wales, Mongrel Boots is approaching a milestone of its own. Nearly 100 years after the first boots were produced, the business remains proudly Australian-made and family-owned, with the next generation helping shape its future.
