FIRST SPEAKMAN REPLY PRIORITISES HOUSING AND KEEPING NSW NUMBER ONE
September 2023
Read MoreBusiness NSW has welcomed NSW Coalition Leader Mark Speakman and his newly announced shadow cabinet.
As the peak body representing almost 50,000 enterprises, Business NSW looks forward to working closely with the Coalition to ensure the state reaches its economic potential.
Business NSW CEO Daniel Hunter said the Liberals and Nationals have a strong record of reform which will serve them well as they seek to hold the Minns Government to account.
“The NSW Coalition showed during the last term of government that they were able to deliver critical infrastructure, reform stamp duty, support regional communities and protect businesses during tough times,” Mr Hunter said.
“I have no doubt that under Mark Speakman and Paul Toole, the Coalition will continue to advocate for business and ensure NSW remains the best place to start and grow a business.
“Business understands the need to tackle inflation and build a stronger economy and that’s why it is so critical that the NSW Parliament seeks to progress skills and tax reform, support business through the energy transition and build a productivity agenda.
“Helping businesses deal with rapidly increasing costs from 11 interest rate rises, the looming 8 per cent increase in workers’ compensation premiums, shocking energy cost increases and the state’s housing shortage are just some of the challenges the NSW Parliament must tackle as a matter of urgency.”
