About this submission

About this Submission
The Australian Federal Government announced a Strategic Review of the Australian Apprenticeship Incentive System in February 2024. The review considers the long-term trend of declining completion rates and skill shortages across the Australian economy, and opportunities to broaden the take-up and successful completion of apprenticeships and traineeships. Business NSW’s submission to the review emphasises:
- The social and economic benefits of apprenticeships, including their role in building a skilled economy, supporting economic growth, and enhancing productivity;
- The importance of providing broad-based support for apprenticeships in addition to those identified in priority areas;
- The value of pre-apprenticeship programs, developed in partnership with industry.
Our submission calls for collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives to enhance participation in and outcomes from apprenticeship programs.
